Packing my Hospital Bag?

I have read what to pack and different things but now that I am trying to pack it, I dunno what to pack!

I have already packed a nursing nightgown, and robe, slippers, an outfit for the baby to come home in.

I am going to put in a brush, toothbrush, toothpaste,.....

WHAT ELSE? I am 34 weeks!

Hairclips/ties/barrets to keep hair out of your face

nursing pads

nursing or supportive bra

socks so your feet don't get cold

shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrush, bodywash, facewash

books and magazines and maybe crossword puzzle books

a phone charger, if you or your partner want to use cell phones to call family

camera and extra batteries

deodorant

lipbalm

list of phone numbers to call

a few diapers

nailclippers for baby

pads (although I think they give you some)

comfortable underwear

your own pillows, if you want

makeup, if you'd like to wear it or put it on

an extra outfit for baby, in case he/she spits up on the one you have packed

if the weather is cold or chilly, I'd take a baby coat or sleeper for her

warm baby blanker if it's cold, thinner one if it's not so cold

going home outfit for you; something comfortable to wear

carseat (has to be properly installed)

That's about all I can think of :)

Oh, and maybe some snacks. You'll be tired and hungry afterwards!

I packed; the items you mentioned plus an outfit for me to come home in a comfy one, like a tracksuit.

I also packed pads, because I like the ones with wings and the ones they give you are really huge and bulky. I also packed comfy warm socks, because it gets really cold, especially in the labor room. I also packed shower items because I am allergic to the soap and shampoo they use in the hospital and I packed lotion as well.

A lot of people forget to make sure that their car seat is properly installed, they will not let you leave the hospital with the baby unless the seat is installed correctly. If it is cold where you are (assuming your in a pretty cold place around xmas and not Florida, Arizona or the like (chilly)), Id suggest you pack a very warm blanket to place over the car seat.

My bag included, a change of clothes for my Husband, 2 outfits for baby along with a hat & blanket. I brought travel size shampoo & body wash along with a rag. Came in handy BTW. I did not bring any pads because they give you those at the hospital. I also packed deodorant, tooth brush, hair brush and a disposable camera, flip flops and some extra undies because if you have a natural delivery you will be bleeding ALOT. I also brought a book & a cd player because I was allowed to play Enya while I was giving birth. Made it very relaxing. I brought a pair of socks because it gets cold in those rooms. I had a pair of clothes for me to wear when I left because you are in the hospital gown until you get ready to leave. You have to make sure u have a car seat set up properly before they will let you leave with the baby. They will inspect it. That's all I brought and anything else I needed they provided.

I packed all that stuff that the books tell you the first time - and I didn't need ANY OF IT! It was such a bloody mess (sorry, gross, but true) that I just wore the hospital issued gowns. This time I'm just packing toiletries, something to wear home and an old crappy pair of slippers that can be thrown away when I leave the hospital.

You will need the ridiculously large pad/diapers they give you. Yea - they are big...but you'll need big for the first few days. Trust me!

i just finished packing my bag last weekend, i packed playing cards, in case i am there a while, and a cross word puzzle and notebook paper b/c you never know what you may learn that you don't want to forget. i packed plenty of different lotions and chapsticks, b/c the nurses at my class said it was a good relaxation technic and you don't know what kind of fragrance you will be in the mood for. i packed blankets for the baby to keep her warm on the way home too. i packed all you said, and these things. don't forget deodorant and pads!!!!!!!! you should be bleeding after wards and you will need pads!!!! and plenty of fresh underwear. :) i also packed a couple of pictures. one of my wedding day, and one of the beach where we got married at, the nurses said to put pictures around the room of happy relaxing times, or places to help us stay focused during labor. kind of a focus point. somewhere in the room we can look at. you are not going to always stare at your support person. hope i helped :)

Maxi pads (the ones they give you in the hospital are ridiculously large and uncomfortable)

Shampoo/conditioner/body wash

An outfit for you to wear (something comfy)

Make up (it's nice to feel like a human again)

Names and numbers of people to call

Change for the snack machines

I had this problem, everything u said is correct, pad's, breast pads cos you will leak throug dependin when ya milk comes, Pack SEVERAL baby outfits as when my daughter was born in the space off 4hours she had to be changed 5 times as she kept being sick, all together whilst she was in hospital i went through 12 baby grow's and i was only in there 2days lol

pads, tucks, shampoo and soap and lotion and warm socks and hair ties and makeup and a warm comfy outfit to go home in. More than one nightgown and undies. Nursing bra, deodorant, maybe your own pillow

shirt

pants

underwear

socks

toothbrush

hairbrush

pillow

blankets

for partner

pajamas, extra socks, plenty of panties..and buy your own pads the ones at the hospital are like diapers seriously.bring a hair dryer and stuff you may want to spruce yourself up after a shower. you might want to even bring things to snack on if your not into hospital food.

good luck :O)
